What This Session Is
In a Discover Your Why Session, we’ll spend 60–90 minutes together exploring the deeper question beneath your writing. Through guided conversation, I’ll help you name the heartbeat of your story — the theme that keeps pulling you back to the page. Within a week, you’ll also receive a written reflection that captures your Why and how it shows up in your manuscript.

Do I need a finished manuscript to do this?
No — you can do a Why session at any stage, whether you’re drafting, revising, or even just starting out. Your Why isn’t tied to one book, it threads through everything you write.
How is this different from story coaching?
Story coaching is ongoing support as you write or revise. A Why session is a single, focused deep dive into your core theme — giving you a compass you can carry into coaching, editing, or your own revisions.
What if I don’t know what my Why is yet?
That’s exactly what this session is for. Through guided questions and conversation, I’ll help you uncover and name it. Even rough ideas often point straight to the heart of your Why
Will this help me market my book?
Yes! Once you know your Why, it becomes much easier to describe your book in a way that feels authentic. You’ll be able to shape compelling blurbs, pitches, and comps around your theme.
What if I write in more than one genre?
That’s fine. Your Why usually transcends genre — it’s the deeper question you’re circling no matter the setting or style.
